My dear friends, the anger of nature has killed more than 1,30,000 (and the number is still booming). Most of them are our fellow beings and many of them are our close ones-whom we have pledged all through our childhood as our brothers and sisters. Many of our brothers and sisters were all of a sudden deprived of all of their belongings-remember there are many middle class and poor families like ours. They were affected because they were near the coast and we were not, just that is the only difference. This is a mistake of none. Kindly be generous and contribute something for the cause. Sacrifice atleast one of your thrifty spendings on things like movies, pizzas, noodles, browsing etc., for at least a month or two. Remember this is going to contribute a cup of rice soup to a person for a whole year. If you extend your sacrifice further he can have that cup with a pinch of salt or sugar. I am going to give up noodles for the next one year and this helps me to contribute Rs.1000 to the fund.
Many are hesitating to donate for the fear of misutilisation of funds. There will be few slip-ups but the most important thing is that the affected people shouldn't suffer due to the dearth of the so-called man made `money'. Government anyhow is going to collect amounts from the tax payers in the name of `Tsunami cess' but the fund collected will be peanuts considering the extent of damage. Nature has put forth a challenge before us in the name of Tsunami. Let us join hands and face it bravely for the sake of our brothers and sisters and for the well being of the nation.
