Some Acumen this will be
VASAVI COLLEGE of Engineering is all set to host its technical festival, `Acumen,' from March 10 to 12.
Acumen is aimed at providing holistic development and encouraging entrepreneurial skills of students. This year a record number of more than 425 papers have been received, of which 120 papers have been selected for paper presentation and another 60 for poster presentation.
Technical talks are being organised with speakers from the industry and academia. Events such as "Best of the Best", "Hardware and Software Design", "Technical Chess, Technical Exhibition", "Technical Quiz" and "Technical Treasure Hunt" are being held.
Non-technical events like a talk on "Environmental Awareness", "Puzzle O Mania", "Mad-ads", "J.A.M (Just a Minute)", "Beg, borrow, steal", "Flash design and animation contest", "Masterminds", "LAN Party (gaming contest)" and "Minesweeper" are also on the cards.
On the evening of the first day, an astronomy show will be held on the campus.
The festival promises to be a treat for both techies as well as those who want to know the latest in technology without going beyond the nuts and bolts...
