They just manage

TUNNELLING THRU: Santosh K. Uppala and M.S. Kiran Iyengar have come out with a book beneficial to management students.

THE MENTION of the word `tunnelling' might throw up a picture of a train passing through a dark tunnel in some deep forests. You are not wrong but for a management student and aspirant, it is something different.

The jargon is used to describe the connection of two computers securely and privately over a series of public links. What is `alpha'? It is definitely a mathematical term but its meaning is different in management jargon. There are hundreds of such words and expressions that are a must know for management students.

But isn't it difficult to flip through the pages of different magazines and newspapers laboriously to get to know them? Two enterprising students of Teegala Krishna Reddy Institute of Management and Science went through a similar problem. But they decided to find a simple way out.

Ready reckoner

And the result of it is a book that they have brought out incorporating idioms, short forms, punch lines, jargon, abbreviations and acronyms related to management education. To say simply, the book is a ready reckoner not only for management students but also for students who aspire to make careers in related fields.

The book covers all the topics. Some important websites mentioned in the book also guide students to gather information related to projects, subjects and employment.

The simple language and lucid presentation makes it interesting to read. "It took us some time to gather information and put it in a book form. But it is a satisfying experience," say Santosh K. Uppala and M.S. Kiran Iyengar. They were assisted by Vinit Dani, Mahipal R. Mandadi and Varaprasad Reddy and other faculty members.
