A MISSION: The college focusses on developing entrepreneurship skills.
ESTABLISHED IN 1989, the Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science at Malumichampatti is run by the charitable organisation Coimbatore Welfare Association.
The Coimbatore Welfare Association was established in 1964, with education as its main mission.
It started a school that grew into a reputed Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, Shri Nehru Vidyalaya.
To mark the Silver Jubilee Year of the school, the association established the college.
This self-financing college, affiliated to Bharathiar University, has the distinction of having been accredited with an `A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The college aims at promoting leadership qualities and developing entrepreneurship skills among the students.
On the 50-acre campus is a library with 15,000 books and e-library, indoor and outdoor game facilities, separate hostels for men and women, an open air auditorium and a computer laboratory with wireless technology. Ten college buses provide easy transport for the students.
Besides offering scholarships for meritorious Plus Two students who wish to go in for higher education, the college presents gold medals to University rank holders and gives away `Exemplary Awards' to top scorers in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
