The Academy for Cumulative Excellence at Loyola College in Chennai is into enhancing communication skills to create better career prospects.
Courses offered by ACE range from postgraduate diplomas in Media Presentation and Television Technology to coaching classes to get into top `B' schools.
The motto of ACE is `Excellence made affordable.' The course in Media Presentation aims to help school and college students, executives, IT professionals, doctors and even lawyers develop team-building and problem solving skills. However, the main thrust is to function as a research and extension centre in English Language teaching. The course is open to any degree-holder and its content includes electronic media language, voice culture, body language, e-journalism, effective practical communication and event management. The one-year diploma in Television Technology, offered by ACE in association with Goodnews Television, provides comprehensive practical training.
Those who have passed Class XII are eligible to apply. The course content is modelled after the Canada-based Geoffrey R. Conway School of Broadcasting.
A fully equipped video production and recording studio and a faculty consisting of specialists are the highlights. ACE also offers courses in effective English Communication, coaching for IELTS, NET/SLET, CAT/XAT, GMAT, TOEFL and classes in French, German, Spanish, Italian and Japanese.
