Research meet in Switzerland
A lecturer in Textile Technology from the Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), N.D. Karthikeyan had been to Switzerland for participating in a conference.
He presented his research papers on "Investigations on Ultraviolet Rays Protection in Knitted Fabrics" and "Properties and Spinnability of Mudar Fibres" at the Fibre Society Spring 2005 conference held at Swiss Federal Institute for Materials Testing and Research (EMPA) at St.Gallen, Switzerland. The Fibre Society, USA conducted this conference during May 25 and 27. During his stay in Switzerland, he visited various research laboratories of Swiss Federal Institute of Materials Testing and Research. This apart he visited M/s Reiter Machine Works, Winterthur and M/s Uster Technologies AG, Uster manufacturers of spinning machines and textile testing instruments. Mr.Karthikeyan's trip to Switzerland was sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, CSIR and University Grants Commission (UGC) of the Government of India.
