Singapore Education roadshow 2005

The Singapore Education roadshow will showcase diverse education programmes from preparatory education to post graduate courses.

With 66,000 inter-national students from over 60 nationalities and 7000 multinational companies that are offering unique industry networking and employment opportunities, Singapore beckons those aspiring for a better future.

To showcase its quality educational offerings, Singapore Education is organising road shows in five major cities in India (Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad).

The exhibition will showcase diverse education programs from preparatory education to postgraduate courses. Representatives from 18 educational institutions will be on hand to provide information on programs and guide students on admission criteria and procedures.

The participants include Singapore's local universities, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), which rank highly on the international stage. Also participating is NTU's Nanyang Business School which was recently ranked among the top 10 Asian Business Schools and top 100 in the world by the Economist, and Singapore Management University, the tiny nation's youngest university which is based on the Wharton model.

Also wooing students would be UNSW-Asia and CNI (Cornell-Nanyang Institute). The CNI will offer a 12-month joint Masters of management in Hospitality programme. Students will study at NTU's campus in Singapore and at Cornell's campus in Ithaca, New York.

The University of New South Wales - Asia campus will be Singapore's first foreign private university, to offer a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes for which applications will open in March 2006.

Singapore Education will also be introducing the quality preparatory education opportunities in Singapore to the Indian market.

Three schools offering unique preparatory education will be participating. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Indian International School, Singapore, (BIIS) rated as one of best International School's in Singapore by Newsweek last year, was launched in 2002. It now has over 1400 students comprising of 15 nationalities.

From 2006, BIIS will offer CBSE Grade 11 and 12 and students the option of studying for their junior college in either CBSE or International Bacculerate .

National University of Singapore's NUS High School of Mathematics & Science, a specialised independent school and Singapore Sports School are the other offerings.
