Literary criticism
A STATE-LEVEL seminar on the recent approaches to modern literary criticism and their impact on the reading/teaching practices was beneficial both for the served as a good tool for students and the staff organised by the Department of English, Jamal Mohamed College.
Inaugurating the seminar, the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University urged the teachers to teach languages in a way that even rural students could comprehend it.
P. Marudunayagam, Director, Pondicherry Institute of Language and Culture, said literary criticism provided ideas for creative writings.
Mr. Marudunayagam demonstrated how theories could be taught in classroom.
This was followed by lectures and paper presentations by professors and lecturers from various colleges in Tamil Nadu.
