ICAR signs MoU with IGNOU

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has signed an agreement with Indira Gandhi National Open University for cooperation in agricultural education.

As per the Memorandum of Understanding, the institutions agreed to promote agricultural education by sharing expertise in developing, testing and evaluating open and distance learning approaches, methods and materials, an ICAR release said.

ICAR Director General Mangala Rai said this would benefit students who do not have access to formal education. The cooperation is expected to benefit the faculties in agricultural universities, rural entrepreneurs, farmers, farmwomen and school dropouts, it said.
