SINGING THEIR WAY: IIPM students engrossed in Anthakshari competition.

Among the many VIP events in the city this one stood out purely for its felicitous mix of fun, entertainment and some skill testing among the future managers. Amaze -- the annual management meet of the IIPM brought together management students from different colleges around the city, giving them an opportunity to break away from their academic schedules for a while, to participate in various contests, interact with each other and have a rollicking time.

The first day was dedicated to competitions ranging from management-related games to fun activities like War of the Words (Debate), Q Inc (Quiz), Last Man Standing (Paper Presentation), T + 0 (Mock Stock), Devil's Advocate (Ad Zap), Baithe Baithe Kya Kare (Antakshari), Second Helping (Food Fest), and Grit and Glory (Tug of War).

The second day saw all the participants strutting their stuff on stage at Necklace Road. It was an evening dazzling in splendour as the teams cat-walked for Rampede -- The Fashion Show, boogied during Jhum -- The Dance Competition, and finally flaunted their wit and looks in a bid to bag the crowns of Mr. & Ms. Amaze.

Rocking event that it was, the show closed with a suitable bang! Everyone got to party in true style out by the water while DJ Amit Saxena had everyone shaking a leg to his music.

Mixed bag

The mood was lively and the demeanour flamboyant. But one could not mistake them to be imperceptive when it came to brains. Battle of Wits -- the inter-collegiate event of Bhavan's Vivekananda College tested the skills of students in various events like quiz, debate, paper presentation, micro presentation and advertising and marketing presentation.

The day began with jest and colour with all the young students working magic under the able guidance of faculty members. For the quiz, the quiz master J. Krishnamurthy, a seasoned quizzer of Quizzerati, enlightened the participating teams and the audience with a mixed bag of questions covering all relevant topics which was mostly to make the students to think quickly and correctly.

Debate was another vibrant event, which really witnessed the battle of words from young minds giving vent to their confidence and communication skills. Bhavan's students bagged the first position. The commerce event had a vibrant presentation on advertising and marketing called Admarksmen. It involved skills in product making, marketing skills and persuasive skills to sell the products to the judges. The show was one of the events to demonstrate to the world how students can be competent given an opportunity.
