NLSIU admissions open

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, has invited applications for admission into the five-year BA.LLB (Hons) and LLM courses for the academic year 2006-07. NLSIU is the premier residential law university in the country.
The five-year BA LLB (Hons) degree programme prepares students for the Bar and other careers in law. Entry qualification is 10+2/equivalent examination with not less than 50 per cent marks. Students taking the qualifying examination in March/April 2006 are also eligible to apply. Age limit is below 20 years as on July 1, 2006. The upper-age limit is 22 years for SC / ST students.
The intake is 80 seats with reservation of 15 per cent for SC and 7.5 per cent for ST students. Financial assistance/fee waiver/scholarship is available for deserving students.
PG course
The LLM course is a two-year postgraduate degree programme (four semesters), offering specialisation in the areas of business law and human rights law. Entry qualification is BL/LLB/BA LLB (Hons) with 50 per cent aggregate marks. Students appearing for final qualifying degree examination are also eligible to apply.
The intake is 40 in the two branches with reservation of 15 per cent for SC and 7.5 per cent for ST students. A few merit-cum-means scholarships are available for deserving students.
Admission on merit
Admissions for the above two programmes are based purely on merit assessed at the national-level admission test to be held on May 7 in Kochi, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kolkata and Mumbai.
