HAVE A HEARTY LAUGH: A missing word here an extra punctuation mark here and you can run riot and have fun with English. — Photo: K.R. Deepak

B.I.E.T.: Which do you think is the most popular language in this world? Well, no prizes for guessing it right, it is obviously the global one - English.

Like every other language it has its funnier side too. Changing a single character in a word can alter the whole meaning of the sentence. Last night one of my friends was chatting with his relative over the Net. He typed a sentence that read, "Last night I had the worst nightmate ever." I looked at it and said, "What the hell did you type in?"

He then looked at it and changed the single character that mattered the most - the `t'' in nightmate to `r' to make it nightmare!

Your wife.. or mine?

In some cases even if the whole sentence is correct it completely presents a different meaning. You might be wondering how? Well, keep on reading. Once my engineering college lecturer watched a movie in the theatre with his wife. There he spotted my friend. The next day in the class he came to my friend and said "Last night I saw you with my wife in the theatre." The entire class burst into laughter. So mind your language folks!
