February and March are months when the windows to world-class legal education are open in India.
But the windows do not remain open for long. The deadlines for receiving applications at the country's best law schools are fast approaching, and so it is time for school students who are presently in Class Twelve to make a quick decision about their career options!
If you are technically inclined, or biology fails to impress you as a career choice, here is something really exciting and happening.
Law is quite an exciting career option. And more bright students in the country are increasingly looking at law as a wonderful career.
The growth of premier national level law schools is in line with the increasing student interest in this professional course, says a Senthil.K, a former student and now an advocate in the Madras High Court.
But then, students should keep in mind that the cut-off date for accepting applications at the National Law School is just around the corner, and that they need to make a decision fast.The first choice among law aspirants from around the country is, NLSIU, Bangalore. NALSAR, Hyderabad is conducting its entrance examination two weeks after NLSIU.A relatively recent addition to the National Law Schools family, NLU, Jodhpur and the last of the National Law School examination dates announced thus far is HNLU, Raipur and Symbiosis Law College. (NLIU, Bhopal is yet to announce its entrance examination date)
Students can look up at www.lawentrance.com, a website that caters to the interests of law aspirants from around the country, and which also has detailed information about the entrance examination dates of various colleges, as well as the cut-off dates for receiving applications.
The entrance examination for NUJS, Kolkata another leading national law school, was held on Sunday, January 29.
The entrance examinations for these National Law Schools are patterned along similar lines, and test a student's aptitude in areas such as English, mathematics, logical reasoning, general knowledge, and legal reasoning (an area that is unique to these entrance examinations.)
