Meet on CSR at Stella Maris
A national seminar for `fostering corporate social responsibility', organised by the Public Relations Department of Stella Maris College along with Covenant Centre for Development, Madurai, and Lead India, New Delhi, will be held at the college premises on December 5 and 6.
The meet's organisers note that the relationship between the corporate sector and community-based organisations has proved beneficial for rural people. Many models have been established from direct commercial partnerships between the corporate sector and rural women's groups to services and products sourced from rural people.
The two-day meet would aim at fostering partnerships between corporate social responsibility and community organisations and try to initiate a national agenda to create structures to support such partnership. Participants at the seminar would include members from the corporate sector, community organisations from five states, students and faculty of public relations department of city colleges.
Covenant Centre for Development is an organisation that promotes rural livelihood ventures. Lead India aims to create a global network of leaders committed to bringing in change towards economic development.
