Gear up, it's contest time back at SASTRA

SASTRA University, Thanjavur, is organising Daksh 2007, a national-level technical contest, on February 28 and March 1, and Kuruksastra 2007, a national-level cultural festival on March 2 and 3.
SPRINGER and UTI are the main sponsors with Tata Consultancy Services, LG, Elsevier, SCOPE, HCL, Cognizant, Infosys, Perkin Elmer being the others. Daksh is a platform for students to exhibit their intelligence, innovation and imagination in offering solutions to various engineering and science-related problems.
Intellectual prowess
It challenges the intellectual prowess of students from various universities, colleges and schools from all over the country. Various events would be organised under six themes Compsense, ChromoXone, ElectroneIQ, Nirmaan, Robotricks and Shunyakaal covering civil, IT, mechanical, electrical, electronics engineering, biotechnology and other application areas of engineering and sciences.
Another contest is named `Sastrapura', which would invite competitive proposals for setting up a PURA in Thanjavur as envisaged by President A.P.J Abdul Kalam. For details, visit www.daksh.sastra.edu.
A special musical night is also planned for March 2 with HEART BEAT, a renowned band playing fusion music.
