Gear up, it's contest time back at SASTRA

More details at www.ks.sastra.edu.

SASTRA University, Thanjavur, is organising Daksh 2007, a national-level technical contest, on February 28 and March 1, and Kuruksastra 2007, a national-level cultural festival on March 2 and 3.

SPRINGER and UTI are the main sponsors with Tata Consultancy Services, LG, Elsevier, SCOPE, HCL, Cognizant, Infosys, Perkin Elmer being the others. Daksh is a platform for students to exhibit their intelligence, innovation and imagination in offering solutions to various engineering and science-related problems.

Intellectual prowess

It challenges the intellectual prowess of students from various universities, colleges and schools from all over the country. Various events would be organised under six themes — Compsense, ChromoXone, ElectroneIQ, Nirmaan, Robotricks and Shunyakaal — covering civil, IT, mechanical, electrical, electronics engineering, biotechnology and other application areas of engineering and sciences.

Another contest is named `Sastrapura', which would invite competitive proposals for setting up a PURA in Thanjavur as envisaged by President A.P.J Abdul Kalam. For details, visit www.daksh.sastra.edu.

A special musical night is also planned for March 2 with HEART BEAT, a renowned band playing fusion music.
