Advertising was the buzzword at Guru Nanak College of Management last week. Students participated in a lecture-discussion on emerging trends in advertising. Students learnt that using familiar words and pictures but with a fresh appeal could work to sell products.
NCC Day

Volunteers from Durgadevi Polytechnic College in Kavaraipettai spent 10 days at Puduvoyal village as part of an NSS camp.
They cleaned the local school's campus, repaired roads, planted trees and conducted AIDS awareness programmes.
The college's lab instructor trained unemployed youth in basic wiring and plumbing.
Students helped to conduct a medical camp, where 100 villagers were screened.
Inter-collegiate meet
The electronic science department of Jaya College of Arts and Science conducted an inter-collegiate meet recently.
Quiz, adzap and paper presentation competitions were held. M. Kasinathan, scientific officer, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, lectured on microcontrollers.
