Tourism course

Karnataka Arts College, a constituent college of Karnatak University, Dharwad, will introduce a five year Integrated Master of Tourism Administration (MTA) programme from the coming academic year.

The programme, instituted at the initiative of the Karnataka Department of Tourism, aims to impart entrepreneurship, operational and managerial skills required for tourism and hospitality and in related areas such as communication and customer service . Other objectives include training young men and women to highlight the history and culture of the land, harmony of the people in the State, art and architecture of the heritage sites and the philosophy of the different faiths enshrined in monuments.

The 10-semester integrated course has a provision for exit after three years, qualifying for the Bachelor of Tourism Administration (BTA).

N.G. Chachadi, Principal of the College, said students who have completed second year Pre-University will be eligible for admission to the new course based on the marks obtained in the PU examination and the entrance test .
