Principals’ meet held

The Tamilnadu Principal’s Association, Madras University Chapter, recently conducted a symposium on ‘Administrative problems faced by principals and legal issues involved in academic administration.”

In his presidential address, S. Ramachandran, Vice Chancellor, Madras University, said principals should be aware of Right to Information Act and other legal issues regarding UGC and AICTE.

In his keynote address, Justice M Jaichandren of Madras High Court, said many legal problems and complications could be solved within the campus through proper counselling, discussion and mutual consultation.

M. Ranganatham, Madras University Registrar, S. Ramaratnam, president of the association, K. Subburam, principal, SRM Arts and Science College and vice president of the association and M Thavamani, principal, Ethiraj College for Women, also participated.
