PG Diploma in Archaeology

The Institute of Archaeology under the Archaeological Survey of India, Delhi, has invited applications for admission to its two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Archaeology. Entry qualification is a Master’s Degree in Ancient or Medieval Indian History/Archaeology / Anthropology / Indian Classical languages such as Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Arabic or Persian or in Geology from a recognised University or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for SC/ST/OBC students). The upper-age limit is 25 years as on July 31, 2007 (relaxable for SC/ST/OBC as per rules).

The prospectus can be obtained from the office of the Director, Institute of Archaeology, Archaeological Survey of India, Red Fort, Delhi-110006, by sending a demand draft of Rs.250 drawn in favour of the Director, Institute of Archaeology payable in New Delhi, along with a self-addressed envelope (size 32 x 22 cm and or A4 size). The applicant should write his name and address in capital letters on the reverse of the demand draft. The last date of accepting requests for application is July 14, 2007. Last date for submission of applications is July 31, 2007.

Students will be entitled for a monthly stipend of Rs.1,500 and second class railway/ordinary bus fare as travelling allowance for attending outstation training camps.

M.Tech. Instrumentation

The School of Instrumentation of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, has invited applications for admission to its M.Tech. Instrumentation course approved by AICTE/ UGC. Entry qualification is B.E./ B.Tech. (Instrumentation / Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical) or M.Sc. (Computer Science / Electronics / Instrumentation / Physics) with 55 per cent marks in aggregate with valid GATE score. Application form and other information can be obtained by sending a Demand Draft for Rs.300 drawn in favour of Head, School of Instrumentation, payable at Indore and a self-addressed A4 size envelope affixed with postage stamps for Rs.50 to the Head, School of Instrumentation, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore-452017 (Ph: 0731- 2462228).

Application form can also be downloaded from www.dauniv.ac.in. Last date for receipt of completed application is July 3, 2007. Date of counselling / Interview for GATE and sponsored students is July 4, 2007.
