SKU admissions begin on sour note
Admissions into various post graduate degree courses in Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) in Anantapur got underway on June 28 rather on a sour note, at least for a few students who scored marks sufficient enough in SKUCET to get them admission.
They were, however, denied admission as the results of under graduate degree course were not announced.
The unfortunate students were seeking admission into M.P.Ed course offered by the university, but their B.P.Ed results were not announced by Sri Venkateshwara University.
G. I. Nallappa secured second rank in the M.P.Ed entrance test conducted by SKU followed by P. Venkatasubba Rao fifth, D. Nagaraju 15th, Venkatakrishna 25th and Ramanjaneyulu 50th. But, they were the unfortunate students from SVU whose B.P.Ed results were not announced yet.
They put up a brave front with the authorities for while demanding postponement of M.P.Ed admissions at least for a few days citing that one whole year would be a loss for them.
But the SKU authorities brushed aside their request stating that it was not their fault. They were denied admission as they could not produce the memorandum of marks of their B.P.Ed course.
University authorities stated that the delay in issuance of Physical Education Common Entrance Test (PECET) notification every year was leading to such a problem.
The results of B.P.Ed course were not announced by SVU, Sri Padmavathi Mahila Vishwavidyalam and a few other universities in the State.
They clarified that they could give admission to only those who would produce their memo of marks of qualifying degree exam along with the transfer certificate.
Accordingly, the admissions were continued with a two-hour delay.
