The VLSI Design and Research Centre under the Department of Electronic Science, University of Pune, (Phone 020-25690836/ 25690837), has invited applications for its entrance test for admission to the following courses commencing from September 13.
•Diploma in Advanced Digital System Design, one-year-full time. Course content includes digital system design principles, hardware design techniques, VLSI design methodology , HDL, DSP and programming, hardware design and testing, EDA and development tools, digital system design applications, embedded systems programming, operating system & RTOS . embedded system hardware, microprocessor architecture, embedded systems application and industry standard Project.
•Certificate course in VLSI Design, six months full-time. Course content includes advanced digital design, CMOS VLSI design hierarchy, system architectures, embedded systems, high level design methodology, testing and verification, DSP and industry standard projects.
•Certificate course in Embedded System Design, six months’ full- time.
Course content includes embedded systems programming languages operating systems and RTOS embedded systems development tools, DSP, telecommunications, embedded system hardware, microprocessor, case study & industry standard projects.
Admission Eligibility for all the above courses are BE/ B.Tech. in Electronics / Electronics and Telecommunication/Instrumentation / Electrical / Computer / Informatics Technology; MSc in Electronics or equivalent students who have appeared for final examinations of the above courses & experienced electronics designers, developers, system integrators can also apply.
There are two stages in the selection procedure.
Stage I – entrance test shall consist of a written test consisting of objective questions based on basic analog and digital design, C and assembly language, aptitude and numerical ability, logic and reasoning, current technological trends, etc. Stage II shall consists of technical/personal interview and review of scholastic records leading to confirmation of admission.
The Stage I entrance test will be held on August 4 and Stage II will be held on August 5 .
The tests and interview will be held in Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Chennai simultaneously.
Last date of submitting the application form is 2nd August 2007.
