The Bangalore University has invited applications for admission to various courses — masters, post-graduate diploma and certificate — to be held at Jnana Bharathi campus, Central College campus, Post-Graduate Centre at Kolar and in the affiliated colleges for the 2007-08 academic year. Applications have been invited for master’s degree in Kannada, English, French, Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu, Urdu, Economics, History, Music (vocal/ instrumental), dance/drama, political science, rural development studies, social work, sociology, visual arts, women studies, apparel technology and management, botany, molecular biology (self-financing), chemistry, biochemistry, mass communication, electronic media (self financing), electronic science, environmental science, geography, geology, applied geology, library and information science, microbiology, biotechnology, physics, psychology, psychological counselling (self financing), sericulture, life science (self financing), statistics, zoology, applied genetics, mathematics, computer science, human consciousness and yoga science, home science, commerce, finance and accounting (self financing), tourism administration (self financing), international business (self financing), education, physical education, and law.
For PG Diploma, applications have been invited for Functional Hindi/translation, Gandhian Studies, Visual Arts, Ambedkar Studies, Epigraphy, Janapada, Basha Vijnana (Kannada), geo-informatics, international business, insurance, hospital administration/health care management (evening courses), information technology enabled services, and retail management.
Applications have been invited for certificate courses in Gandhian studies, yogic sciences, Dalit movement, human rights and duties.
Interested candidates can obtain the application forms and the university prospectus at the following branches of State Bank of Mysore — K.G. Road, Nagarbhavi (Jnana Bharathi), Basavanagudi, Indiranagar, Jayanagar 3rd Block, Gowribidanur, Kolar, Koramangala, Malleswaram, Rajajinagar 1st Block — on payment of Rs. 300 for general category and Rs. 150 for SC/ST/Category 1.
Outstation candidates can obtain the forms through post by sending a self-addressed envelop of A4 size, affixing a stamp of Rs. 50, along with a DD for the requisite amount drawn in favour of Finance Officer, Bangalore University.
The candidates have to send the filled forms/request for obtaining the forms by post to Registrar, Bangalore University, Jnana Bharathi Campus, Bangalore-560056 by August 11.
