JRF-Lectureship
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has invited applications for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for lectureship Examination in the following science subjects to be held on December 23.
This National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for the award of JRF for determining eligibility for appointment of lectures in universities and colleges.
The test will be held in subjects such as chemical sciences, earth, atmospheric, ocean and planetary science, life science, mathematical sciences andphysical sciences.
Those who have passed M.Sc./equivalent degree in the subjects concerned with 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for SC/ST, Physically and Visually Handicapped cnadidates) are eligible. Those who are appearing or have appeared in the final M.Sc. examination can also apply under Result Awaited (RA) Category. Maximum age limit for JRF is 28 years as on July 1, 2007.
Relaxation up to five years is allowed for SC/ST/OBC/ PH/VH and female applicants. No upper-age limit for lectureship. One can apply for either or both JRF and lectureship examinations.
Two separate merit lists for JRF and lectureship will be prepared on the basis of the test, to be held across the country. Application forms and information bulletins can be obtained from August 21 through designated branches of the Indian Bank for Rs.400 (Rs.200 for OBC and Rs.100 for PH/VH candidates). The completed application forms with enclosures should be sent under certificate of posting to the Controller of Examinations, Human Resource Development Group, CSIR Complex, New Delhi – 110012, so as to reach the addressee on or before September 21.
Applications from Lakshadweep, Andaman and other remote areas will be received up to September 28.
