Draw up a plan to tackle problems

RAGHURAM NANDAM

P.B.Siddhartha College of Arts and Science: Everybody in this world is faced with some problem or the other, as life poses many challenges.

All of us seek to answer these challenges in our own ways.

There are needs and desires that are to be satisfied. Nobody can escape from these situations, as daily life is full of these small but important demands.

To meet our needs, we set goals and we aim to reap good benefits out of our hard work and efforts.

In an attempt to achieve the goals, one needs to make good plans and make sincere efforts.

They have to pay serious attention to looking for ways of how to overcome obstacles in the attainment of the goals. Without planning and thinking, solving one’s problems is not easy.

The art of problem-solving is one aspect, which separates successful people from the other categories.

Each and every one in this world confronts with problems. The problems faced by them may be common or unique.

For example, if we observe a child, who is not willing to go school, we know how skills develop early. For the child, going to school is a big problem. So, he weaves a story and tells his parents. Finally, he solves the problem in his own way.

To solve a problem, we need to know its nature and causes. So, one should have a clear idea of the problem. Remember always that each problem will have to be viewed from different perspectives. Collection and analysis of the information regarding the problem is the key to solving it in an efficient manner.

For this purpose, we may consult experienced persons, read every available book, recall old experiences and think of all the possible solutions. Help comes in various forms and we should be ready to take it judiciously.

Using relevant information and nature of the problem, one may start thinking of various possibilities for the solution of one’s problem. As a result, we may start with a few possible solutions to our problems. The most important step in problem-solving is ‘selection of a proper solution’.

Finally, the selected solution for the problem should satisfy the demands of the problem.

Problem-solving behaviour helps an individual in the growth and development of his personality making him happier and wiser. In order to excel in this competitive world, we have to master the ‘art of problem-solving’.
