Timeshare in hotel management curriculum
The All India Resort Development Association (AIRDA) has announced introduction of vacation ownership (timeshare) as a subject in the syllabi of institutes of hotel management by the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHM). N.S. Bhuie, Director (Studies), NCHM, said the Council had done extensive research to evolve course materials that would be relevant to the Indian industry. B.S. Rathor, chairman, AIRDA, said the area of vacation ownerships is one of the fastest growing segments of the hospitality industry and will require a large number of skilled personnel in the coming years.
Manipal Academy of Banking and Insurance recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICICI Bank to expand learning by offering specialised banking and insurance skills to graduates. K.V. Kamath, managing director and chief executive officer, ICICI Bank, and Ramdas M. Pai, chairman, Manipal Education and Medical Group, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations, according to a press release.
