SUCCESS MANTRA: Developing overall skills helps.
SRR and CVR Government Degree College: The entire educational scenario is changing by the day.
From colleges to faculty and from students to parents, everybody is excited and eager to derive the maximum out of this.
With good careers emerging on the horizon, the students are giving more attention than before with increasing emphasis on job opportunities.
The question arises as to why so much attention is being given to job offers rather than pursuing a course of one’s passion. It is a situation where we will ultimately land in a rat race for jobs.
The job-hunting seems to have no end at all. It has triggered an atmosphere of competition for the sake of jobs at even professional institutions. Now one can understand why the scenario has changed in such a manner.
The academia is debating whether there is anything they can do to improve the situation and ensure that the students will get maximum benefit.
The fever has no exception. A lot of competition is witnessed at engineering, degree and management colleges and it has now started gripping other colleges as well.
It is understandable as to why the parents and students are attaching lot of importance to job-oriented courses. At the same time, the colleges are also seeking to cater to the aspirations of students rather than looking for traditional courses.
There is every reason for us to think in terms of novelty and innovation. It is what brings success ultimately.
Keeping the originality of various courses is one important thing that should not be neglected.
They are offering a variety of combinations that stand students in good stead.
They should not be allowed to lose focus on primary objective. The subjects concerned should be taught with steadfastness and flexibility.
The employability factor should not dictate the rules for the entire education process in the colleges.
This will leave an impact on the standards at schools also. It does not mean that the main thrust of education should be neglected.
What is important is that the process of gaining knowledge should not be at stake.
