Applications for JEE 2008 for admission to B. Sc hospitality wassup

The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology and the Indira Gandhi National Open University have invited applications for the national-level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE 2008) for admission to the three-year B.Sc. hospitality and hotel administration course conducted at hotel management and catering institutes. The approximate number of seats available nationally is 4,045.

Those who have passed Plus Two or any equivalent examination, or appearing for it this year, in any stream with English as one of the subjects are eligible to apply. The upper age limit is 22 as on July 1, 2008. For Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, it is 25.

The examination is on May 10. The filled application form, acknowledgement card and admit card in triplicate should be sent to the JEE Cell, National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, A- 34, Sector 62, Noida – 201 301, through registered post to reach there on or before April 11.

The three-hour entrance examination covers 30 questions each in the following areas: reasoning and logical deduction; numerical ability and scientific aptitude; general knowledge and current affairs; general English; and aptitude for the service sector. The three-year B.Sc. course equips students with skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge their supervisory responsibilities in the hospitality sector. Applications can be downloaded from the website www.nchmct.org.

BHU entrance

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varnasi – 221 005, has invited applications for an entrance test for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including some professional programmes.

Undergraduate courses include B.Sc. agriculture, LL.B. and B.Ed. Postgraduate courses include MA, M.Sc. and M.Sc. Tech. in various disciplines, MFA, M.Lib.Sc., M.Ed. (Special), LL.M., MCA, M.Sc. (agriculture) and MBA in agri-business.

Applications for hospitality

The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition is inviting applications for admissions into its B. Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration course for the academic year 2008-09.

Applications are available at the institute near Vidya Nagar or at Sri Shakthi College of Hotel Management, Begumpet and last date for sale of applications is April 11, said a press release.
