Giving women their due
L.S. LAKSHMI KUMARI
SRR and CVR Government College: It is wonderful to celebrate important days signifying development of a section of society or some memorable occasion.
These celebrations mark a festive atmosphere among people coming together to enjoy their most with each and everyone. That is what determines the human spirit.
Some people wait for months together to celebrate events like Friendship Day, Students’ Day or Teachers Day.
Among all these, Women’s Day has come to witness a lot of enthusiasm among women achievers in different fields of activity. Organisations, companies and associations have started attaching a lot of importance to this and any achievement on the part of a woman will not go without a mention at some meeting organised to mark this.
It is important that people should be recognised for their merit and notable contribution to the cause of excellence of an organisation or company. What better than to acknowledge and reward a woman employee or leader on Women’s Day. That really goes a long way in inspiring them to greater joy and motivating them to realise their inherent strengths with greater vigour. Very often, in colleges, we come across women and girls coming together sharing their common ambitions of doing well in academia. These days, women are also taking to industry and other fields in larger numbers without feeling in any way inferior to men. It has brought a lot of dignity and infused a good measure of confidence in women in general.
It is success that forms the objective of anybody’s actions and, more particularly, women are also seeking to savour wins in their academic endeavours. In any competitive examination or entrance test, we come across a large number of women doing their bit very well and sometime overtaking boys very often. Indeed, they are giving a tough time to boys in important entrance examinations these days.
A moment of triumph will not go without inspiring anybody to work hard to reap greater success. Indeed, women are proving themselves in every endeavour and assignment they are given.
