Cusat CAT
The Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) has invited applications for its Common Admission Test (CAT), Departmental Admission Test (DAT) and test for lateral entry for the following courses.
B.Tech. in civil engineering; computer science; electrical and electronics engineering; electronics and communication engineering; mechanical engineering; marine and safety and fire engineering; IT instrumentation; naval architecture and ship building; polymer science and rubber technology; Integrated M.Sc. in photonics; LL.B. (Honours); and the B.Tech. lateral entry programme.
Postgraduate programmes: LL.M.; MA in Hindi language and literature; MBA (full time); MBA (travel and tourism), MBE; MIB, M.Sc. in applied chemistry; biotechnology; electronic science; environmental technology; hydrochemistry; industrial fisheries; marine biology; marine geology; marine geophysics; mathematics; meteorology; oceanography; physics; and statistics.
MA translation (German or Russian)
M.Phil. in applied economics; chemistry; chemical oceanography; commerce; Hindi; fisheries science; life science; mathematics; and physics.
M.Tech. in atmospheric science; computer-aided structural analysis and design; computer and information sciences; electronics; engineering statistics; industrial catalysis; marine biotechnology; ocean technology; opto-electronics and laser technology; polymer technology and software engineering.

The entrance tests on June 14 and 15 will be held in all district headquarters of the State.
B.F.Sc. entrance
The Central Institute of Fisheries, Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET), Kochi, has invited applications for an entrance test to be held on June 8 at Kochi for admission to its Bachelor of Fishery Science (Nautical Science) course. The four-year programme is affiliated to the Cochin University of Science and Technology.
Entry qualification is Plus Two with a minimum 50 per cent marks in mathematics and science. Those aged 16 to 20 as on October 1 can apply. The number of seats is 20.
Selection is based on the score in the entrance test, academic merit in Plus Two and interview. The application fee is Rs. 250 (Rs. 125 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates). The application form and details can be downloaded from the web site www.cifnet.gov.in. The last date of receiving applications is May 23.
