To ensure access to the latest developments taking place globally in entrepreneurship education to all its members, the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) has entered into collaborations with Stanford University and TiE Global, Vinod Shastri, Consultant, NEN, Pune, said.
Addressing students of CMS College of Science and Commerce, advised aspiring entrepreneurs to be prepared to meet the challenges of initiating a business venture.
The college signed a memorandum of understanding with NEN.
Dr. G.R.D School of Social Work organised a one-day seminar on “Human Rights in Reality.” Shanmugha Priya, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore (East) inaugurated the seminar and addressed the gathering on self-confidence, social commitment and traffic rules.
She also spoke about the village adopted by the East Circle of police and described the activities carried out there.
Technical sessions were handled by experts.
“Students should imbibe Tamil and Tamil culture but English is necessary for development. Without English, you will be pushed back in this competitive world,” said I.S. Parveen Sultana, Justice Basheer Ahmed Syeed College for Woman, Chennai.
She was the chief guest at the college day celebrations at Kovai Kalaimagal College of Arts and Science.
Dr. N.G.P Institution of Technology celebrated its first Annual Day. K.A. Chinnaraju, Director of Management Studies, Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology was the chief guest. The college newsletter, ‘Times of DRNGPIT’ was released at the function. Mr. Chinnaraju advised the students to choose their careers carefully.
He also spoke about the importance of communication in the employment scene.
A Centre for Women’s Studies for the Uplift of Tribal Society was launched on March 8 at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women. It coincided with the college’s Women’s Day celebrations. Punitha Ekambaram, Reader, Department of Tamil, Government Arts College, spoke on the change women had undergone. The present-day woman was empowered and did not shirk work, she said.
The Department of Visual Communication of Rathinam College of Arts and Science recently organised ‘Frame to Frame,’ an intercollegiate short-film and documentary competition. K.Hariharan, Director of LB Prasad Institute of Film and Television Academy, Chennai, C.J Rajkumar, cinematographer, Chennai, Kavingar Puviyarasu and Pooja, VJ of S.S. Music Channel, were the chief guests.
More then 16 short films shot by students of visual communication from various colleges were screened. A music video album ‘Dazzle – The World’ made by the students of visual communication of Rathinam College of Arts and Science, was also released.
The Department of Biomedical Instrumentation Engineering, Avinashilingam University for Women organised a symposium on Synapse ’08 recently. More than 35 colleges from all over the country participated. D. Shanthakumar, Managing Director, Vital Bio-Systems, Chennai, was the chief guest. The technical events included skills in communication, memory, general knowledge, alertness, concentration and speed with co-ordination. T.K. Shanmughanandam attended the symposium. The university signed an MoU with Vital Bio-Systems, Chennai.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology recently conducted a technical symposium, ‘Elzia ’08.’ K. Ragunandanan, Senior Deputy General Manager, Project Management, was the chief guest. Students from various colleges who participated presented technical papers.
Karpagam Arts and Science College recently celebrated its Annual Day. Neeraj Manchanda, Head Operations, Airtel Telemedia Services, was the chief guest. He advised students to accept challenges and fix goals to be able to lead a successful life.
Kongunadu Arts and Science College organised a programme ‘Challenges for the Women in Higher Education’ in connection with the International Women’s Day.
