IGNOU admissions go online

Online admission is now possible at the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). It has come into effect for all academic programmes commencing in July 2008. The online facility is made available on the website: www.ignou. ac.in.

According to K. Panneerselvam, Regional Director, IGNOU Madurai Regional Centre, the facility will enable students to select any study centre in the country for a correspondence course of their choice and also make both application and admission procedures easy.

“We also have an online payment mode. Students can fill in the required particulars in the online application admission form and choose the mode of fee payment out of the three options available — credit card, cash and bank demand draft,” he said. Dr. Panneerselvam said the university had a provision of giving online feedback to students.
