CIPET entrance test on July 13

The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET), under the Union government, has invited applications for its July 13 Joint Entrance Examination for admissions to the courses conducted at its various centres.

A two-year M.Tech. course in plastics technology is offered at the Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow and Hajipur centres. The qualification required for admission is BE or B.Tech. in mechanical, chemical, production or polymer engineering, or M.Sc. in polymer science or chemistry with specialisation in polymers. The age limit is 35.

A four-year B.Tech. course in plastics technology is conducted at the Chennai, Bhubaneswar and Lucknow centres. Those who have passed Plus Two or equivalent examinations with mathematics, physics and chemistry. The age limit is 21.

For admission to the one-year postgraduate diploma course in plastics engineering, those who have BE, B.Tech. or B.Sc. degree in mechanical, chemical, production, polymer, tool, electrical and electronics, instrumentation, petrochemical, electrical or mechatronics enginermay apply. The age limit is 26.

For the one-year postgraduate diploma course in CAD/CAM for plastics engineering, those having BE or B.Tech. degree in mechanical, chemical, production, polymer and tool engineering may apply. The age limit is 26.

Those who have passed the three-year degree course in science with chemistry as one of the subjects may apply for the postgraduate diploma course in plastic processing and testing.

Other courses on offer include one-year post-diploma course in CAD/CAM for plastics mould design, post-diploma course in machine maintenance and integrated diploma and post-diploma programmes (three- and four-year duration).

For the one-year post-diploma course in CAD/CAM for plastics mould design, those who have passed the three-year diploma course in mechanical, plastics, chemical technology, tool, production and automobile engineering, mechatronics and tool and die-making; or CIPET-DPMT; or equivalent courses may apply.

The post-diploma course in machine maintenance will admit students who have passed the three-year diploma course in mechanical, plastic, electrical and electronics and instrumentation engineering, mechatronics or tool and die-making; or CIPET-DPMT; or equivalent courses may apply. For the integrated diploma and post-diploma programmes (three- and four-year duration) in plastics mould technology; plastics technology, the minimum qualification required is pass in 10th standard with maths, English and science. The age limit is 18.

Applications can be downloaded from the website www.cipet.gov.in Online registration can also be done. The last date for the receipt of filled applications is June 16. The courses will start on August 18.
