Student presented with laptop
TALENT REWARDED: M. Solaiammal, student of Park College of Engineering and Technology, receiving a laptop from Ranjan Mudithya, scientist, National Aeronautical Laboratory.
M. Solaiammal, a third year student of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Park College of Engineering and Tekhnology, has recently come up with a programme in C language to solve Sudoku in a second, at the press of a key.
Solaiammal, though a computer whiz, did not have a PC at home.
Hailing from a poor family, she did not have the means to own a PC.
Small programmes
But, this did not deter her from working on computers. Even while in school, Solaiammal had a yearning towards computers, especially software.
She has been creating small programmes whenever she got time. She has been using the laboratory in her college to hone her talent.
Recognising her need for a PC, her college presented her with a laptop.
This was handed over to her on the occasion of the college day by the chief guest Ranjan Mudithya, scientist from the National Aeronautical Laboratory. P.V. Ravi, Chairman, and Anusha Mahesh, Chief Executive Officer, of Park Educational Institutions, and G. Mohan Kumar, Principal of the college, were present.
Solaiammal hopes that her aim to achieve great heights in the software field and gain international recognition would be fulfilled.
