Students honoured
PES Institute of Technology recently honoured more than 1,200 students who had scored high marks in the examinations conducted by the Visvesvaraya Technological University last semester. Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde, who distributed the awards, said corruption had entered all levels but society is partially responsible for corruption, since it recognises one’s possession of wealth. He asked students to play a role in administration so that corruption is effectively tackled.
N. Srinivasan, Adviser, CII Institute of Quality, handed out Prof. MRD Merit Scholarships and advised students to be committed to achieving their goals. “An educational institution is four walls with tomorrow inside,” he said. He also told students to take note of the fact that there are several options besides IT.
M. R. Doreswamy, founder of PES Institutions, called for higher involvement of parents in the development of students.
K.N.B. Murthy, Principal and Director, PESIT; D. Jawahar, CEO, PES Institutions; and T. R. Seetharam, Dean, Academic Affairs, were present.
