M.Sc. in nanobiotech

Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli is starting a new 2-year M.Sc. in Nanobiotechnology from July 2008.

This M.Sc. programme is for two years, self-supporting and first of its kind in India. The syllabus will comprise of subjects in the forefront areas of Nanobiotechnology such as DNA Microarray, Protein Microarray, Lab-on-a-CHIP, Biorobotics, Bioelectr onics, Microfluidics, Functionalisation of Nanotubes, Nanomedicine etc. Study of an international language during the course period is mandatory. This research-based programme will require the students to continuously carryout investigations for two years along with their course.

As Nanobiotechnology is a highly interdisciplinary subject, students from different disciplines such as Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Physics, Medical Science, Agricultural Science, Environmental Science are admitted.

Students who wish to take this course as a second PG course can also apply.
