Pre-departure briefing in Kochi today
The British Council is organising a pre-departure briefing in Kochi on Tuesday (July 22) for students who have received an offer of admission from any UK institution or are in the process of applying to one and preparing to leave for the UK soon.
The programme, being conducted at Hotel Avenue Centre, Panampilly Nagar, will focus on student visa application and immigration, travel, settling down in the UK, accommodation, working part-time and health.
The students will be offered expert advice. Special guests from the visa section of the British Deputy High Commission will be present.
The visa officer will brief the students on the latest student visa procedures, including the Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS), biometrics, student visitor visa, trusted partners promoting UK education, useful documents to submit and information on work during and after studies, according to a release.
There will also be an interaction with selected alumni who will share their experiences in the UK. Students and parents are required to register for the event and a nominal registration fee will be charged. Students have also been advised to bring a copy of their offer letters.
