Honing business skills in women
Entrepreneurship among women was till now confined to those from big business households. But women with some enterprise from normal backgrounds are rising rapidly and they have a great opportunity to hone their skills from the best of brains, that too free of cost.
As a part of the ‘10,000 Women’ initiative in India, launched by Goldman Sachs, selected women entrepreneurs would study at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
The 12-week programme has been designed to provide world class education to the students via three weeks of classroom sessions and nine weeks of mentoring support on the job.
Women running and managing their own business venture for more than a year and have potential for growth can apply. The annual revenue of the venture should be between Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh. They will be trained on different functions and business strategies, bridging the gap of a formal management education.
Refining process
At the end of the programme, the women entrepreneurs will be enabled to build a robust business by refining their business model and moving from start-up to entrepreneurial phase.
The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Certificate Programme for Women Entrepreneurs will provide full scholarship to selected candidates.
The first batch of the programme starts on October 30 at the ISB.
