Ph.D. programmes
The following national level institutions are providing research facilities leading to Ph.D. It is time to apply for these Ph.D. programmes. More details can be obtained from the web sites of the institutes concerned.
Immunology
The National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi – 110 067, has invited applications for admission to its Ph.D. programmes in the areas of genetics and cell signalling; immunity and infection; molecular and cellular biology; reproduction and development; and structural and computational biology.
M.Sc. holders in any branch of science or M.Tech., MBBS, M.V.Sc. or M.Pharm. holders who have passed all major examination from 10 +2 onwards with at least 60 per cent marks are eligible to apply. Those who are likely to complete these courses this year can also apply.
Selection is based on a written test to be held on February 15 at Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and Kolkata.

Astrophysics
The Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore – 560 034 has invited applications from bright and motivated students with outstanding academic merit for admission to its Ph.D. programme; integrated Ph.D. programme in physics and astrophysics; and integrated M.Tech.-Ph.D. (tech) programme in astronomical instrumentation.

Anna University
The Centre for Research under Anna University Chennai has invited application for admission to Ph.D. and M.S. (by research) programmes (December session).

IIT Roorkee
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has invited applications for admission to Ph.D. programmes for the spring semester 2008-09 session.

Chemical Laboratory
The National Chemical Laboratory, Pune – 411 008 has invited applications for admission to Ph.D. programmes in chemical and related sciences from students who have qualified CSIR- NET, CSIR -UGC fellowship schemes; DBT, ICMR JRF examinations; or Bioinformatics National Certification Examination. NIT Warangal

Fellow programme in management
The Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, has invited applications for its doctoral-level fellow programme in management commencing in July 2009.
Those who have obtained Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 60 per cent marks and with good academic record are eligible to apply.
The candidate must not be above 45 years as on June 30, 2009. Selection is based on CAT or GMAT score or UGC- CSIR- NET, group discussion and interview. Those selected will be eligible for a monthly fellowship of Rs.12,000 during the first and second years and Rs.14,000 during the third and fourth years.
A contingency grant of Rs.20,000 a year will also be given.
