Soft skills training for Stella Maris lecturers

Careers Junction, a human resource training organisation, conducted a 3-day workshop on soft skills development for lecturers of Stella Maris College recently.

As many as 36 lecturers who finished their training received certificates from K. Venugopal, Joint Editor, The Hindu Business Line.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Venugopal said close to 2.1 million graduates passed out of arts and science colleges but not all were employable because they lacked the skills required by employers these days. He said it was well worth getting trained in soft skills as it would help them in their careers.

The training programme concentrated on inter-personal skills, goal-setting, time management, personal effectiveness and self-brand creation.

Summing up the purpose of the training programme, HR and Training Manager Sunita Raghavan said the session was meant to make mentors of lecturers. CEO of Careers Junction P.V.R. Krishna Rao spoke.
