‘Success of company depends on human resources’



SPIRIT OF INNOVATION: Students of Mechanical Engineering of Karpagam College of Engineering, Coimbatore, displaying their projects at the exhibition organised at the college recently.

The human resource of a company is what determines its growth and success, Jairam Varadaraj, Managing Director, Elgi Equipments, said here recently.

Inaugurating the national seminar on “training manpower in the modern business context” organised by G.R.Damodaran Academy of Management, he said a conducive environment at the workplace would motivate people to accomplish their objectives.

K. Bharath, President, Globex Association, and Geetha Padmanabhan, Secretary of the GRD Institutions, attended.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Karpagam College of Engineering organised a ‘project model exhibit.’ Several working models made by the students were displayed. Students from colleges in Chennai, Madurai, Tiruchi, Erode, Dindigul, Salem and the Nilgiris, participated. The event had more than 53 engineering colleges and 22 polytechnics.

Avinashilingam University celebrated the anniversary of T.S. Avinashilingam Chettiar, the founder of the university. Chancellor of the university, T.K. Shanmuganandam said Chettiar was a passionate educationist and had been instrumental in establishing an institution for higher learning for women at a time when women’s education was looked down upon.

The School of Biotechnology of SNMV College of Arts and Science will organise a five-day faculty development programme for bioscience faculty, scientists and research scholars on nanomedicine and its applications. The programme will discuss nanoscience technologies and the ongoing developments.

Bio-nano technologists, business developers, and researchers can take part.

Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology recently inaugurated its Computer Association, CALIPSO. B.Murali, Head of the Department of Computer Science, PSG College of Arts and Science, was the chief guest.

Student Chairman, C. Boopathiraj, and Head of the Department of MCA, M. Sankari, participated in the programme.

The National Service Scheme unit of the Rangnathan Engineering College conducted a blood donation camp in association with the K.G.Hospital on the college premises.

The Manager of the Blood Bank of K.G. Hospital, A. Vijayanand, spoke about the advantages of blood donation.

Staff and students donated blood.

The hospital distributed certificates of appreciation to all donors.

The Department of Management Studies of Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology inaugurated Students’ Management Association, ‘Melange.’ A. Rajasekhar, a member of Lions Club and an entrepreneur, chief guest, spoke about the need for developing entrepreneurial skills among management students.

A national conference on “Adaptive Sensors and Intelligent Systems” was organised by the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Electronics and Communications Engineering of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College. R. Subbayyan, former Vice Chancellor of Bharathiyar University, was the chief guest. The objective of the conference was to bring together researchers, academicians, and industrial organisations to share the ir views and findings.

EASA College of Engineering and Technology organised a voluntary blood donation camp for the staff and students on the college premises at Navakkarai. Organised in association with the K.G. Hospital, the camp was inaugurated by the principal, B.G. Vishnuram.

PSG College of Pharmacy organised a national-level technical symposium on “advance approaches in formulation development and drug targeting.’ Over 300 students participated. T. Mangalaraj, Head of the Department of Nanotechnology, Bharathiar University, was the chief guest.
