Techfest from January 24 to 26
Techfest – the annual International Science and Technology Festival of IIT Bombay would be held from January 24 to 26, 2009 and more than 10,000 students from India and the neighbouring countries are expected to participate.
The competitions will be held in four different sections - Crypt-o-logic: Section dealing with computer science events, Dimensions: events related to various unexplored fields like CFD, Design etc, Techtronics: comprising of competitions related to high-end autonomous robotics and Xcelerate: robotics competitions with the machines being made to race against each other.
Techfest-2009 will also see a special segment meant only for school students called Techfest Scholastic with different events like exhibitions lectures and competitions lined up for them.
The Whacky Ideas Competition, in which open ideas have been invited from school students related to the save our planet theme and the best entries are to be displayed in Techfest.
Prize money worth Rs. 15 lakh is at stake in the 20 events at the fest.
The last date for registrations is Dec. 25.
