Focus now on supply chain management
I am pursuing MBA from NIBM Chennai, with logistics & supply chain as elective. I want to do Ph.D or M.Phil in HRD in distance mode. Please give me details on universities offering the courses. What are the career prospects for students of logistics & supply chain in industries?

It is always good to have a doctoral qualification if you want to progress in your career.
But from what you are doing, it is difficult to understand why you want to shift to HR at the Ph.D level.
Ph.D is not just another degree. It is research based and you would have to be a ‘subject matter expert’ in the real sense of the term. Ph.D is not earned easily. Though you want to do it in the distance mode and several universities offer the opportunity for doing it, the enrolment process is very stringent.
First you will have to find a professor who is willing to guide you in the chosen subject.
The professor who is willing to be your guide will first asses your depth of understanding of the subject in which you propose to do research.
He/she will look at your track record right from schooling to post graduation.
You will be asked to shortlist some proposed areas of research and submit a preliminary paper on those topics. Supply chain management is the happening area in the corporate world.
The focus of all organisations now is to be able to procure materials on time and be able to manufacture and deliver on time to consumers and clients.
This is the area where new tools for improving the whole gamut of modern day business are emerging, new processes are being introduced and innovation is taking place.
There are several new courses being introduced by B-Schools in India and abroad in supply chain and logistics management.
You stand better chances for doing Ph.D if you can concentrate on supply chain management.
Following universities offer Ph.D in distance mode:

I have completed B. Tech (EEE) with 80 percent and MBA. I wish to pursue M. Tech and I am interested in teaching. I wish to do this from best university/institute in India and if not from abroad.

It is predicted by several surveys that by 2020 there will be a shortage of teaching professionals in the fields of science, technical and professional studies.
There are not many postgraduates willing to pursue doctoral degrees and then enter the teaching profession.
With an M.Tech you will be able to surpass competition and get in to the field of teaching, though the competition there is not any less.
Some of the top institutes in technology studies are the IITs, IISC, TIFR, BITS and BHU.
The only way to get admission is to take the GATE or the prescribed entrance by a particular institute.
Your score in the entrance test along with your marks right from +2 level will be taken into consideration and after an interview you will be given admission based on your rank.
For IITs you will have to take the GATE. For other institutions it will depend on the specialisation you opt for. It may call for GATE and institution test.
