‘Faculties must keep pace with trends’
The faculties must update their technological know-how to keep pace with advancements in different engineering domains, suggested D. N. Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad. He was addressing the valedictory function of the two-week lecturers’ training programme conducted by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Hyderabad centre, here on Friday. V. Rajanna, General Manager and Regional Head, A.P. Region, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and K. Babu Rao, Director, Navayuga Infotech Pvt Ltd. talked about the need for quality engineering education. The faculties were trained in system design, Linux system programming, embedded Linux and driver development, web services and SOA as part of its “Prepare Future” project at JNTU C-DAC campus, informed the centre’s Director N. Sarat Chandra Babu. More than 67 lecturers have participated in the programme from 11 States - Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Orissa and New Delhi, he informed.
