Scholarships
The National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC) has invited applications from persons with disabilities to award 500 National Scholarships for the year 2009-10 for pursuing technical and professional courses from recognised institutions. Financial assistance can be given for buying computer with editing software for visually challenged/hearing impaired graduate and postgraduate students pursuing professional courses and for support access software for students with cerebral palsy.
A sum of Rs.1000 per month will be given for hostellers and Rs.700 for day scholars studying in professional courses at graduation and above level, and Rs.700 for hostellers and Rs.400 for day scholars pursuing diploma /certificate courses. Course fee is reimbursed up to ceiling of Rs.10,000 per year. Applications should be sent by August 31, 2009. Visit: http://nhfdc.org/upload/

Admissions open
Chimes Aviation Academy (CAA), a division of Chimes Aviation Private Ltd., and a part of Chimes Group, has announced the opening of admissions for its next batch of CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence) (IR/ME), PPL (Private Pilot Licence), and start-up CPL courses for August/September 2009 batches.
Application forms can be downloaded from the website http://www.caaindia.com/.The last date for submission of the application forms is July 30.
CAA will soon be seeking FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) & JAA (Joint Aviation Authorities) certifications to enable training on multiple global licences and will also be offering Advanced Simulator Training.
Eligibility for admission to CPL is 10+2 with Physics and Maths.
