Is it okay to say, ‘He was sworn in President’?

(Surbhi Malhan, Udham Singh Nagar)

No, it is not. You can either say, ‘He was sworn in’ or ‘He was sworn in as President.’ You cannot say, ‘He was sworn in President’.

Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.

My friend will be sworn in tomorrow evening.
