M.Phil. in bioinfomatics
The University of Kerala has invited applications for an entrance examination for admission to the M.Phil. course in bioinformatics conducted at the Centre for Bioinformatics, Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram. The one-year course is open to degree holders in computer science, life science; M.Tech. in any discipline; MCA or M.Sc. in bioinformatics. Total seats: 15.
Application forms can be downloaded from the www.cbi.keralauniversity.edu(Phone: 0471 – 2412759). Filled-in application forms along with a demand draft for Rs.250 from SBT/SBI/district co-operative banks drawn in favour of Finance Officer, University of Kerala, payable at SBT KUOC branch, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram and two self-addressed stamped envelopes should be sent to the Deputy Registrar, University of Kerala, Kariavattom Campus, Thiruvananthapuram on or before September 20.
Admission will be based on marks scored in the qualifying examination and the entrance examination (50:50 ratio). The entrance examination will have 100 objective type questions, 20 questions each from computer science and general biology, and 60 questions on logic and numeric reasoning.
