Admission to PG and post-doctoral course at AIIMS

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has invited applications for entrance test for admission to its postgraduate and post-doctoral courses commencing January 2010.

PG courses include M.D., M.S., M.Ch., MDS with various specialties. Applications are also invited for admission to Master in Hospital Administration (MHA) and Ph.D. programme in various disciplines.

Eligibility

•For M.D., M.S., M.Ch. (6 years) and MDS courses: MBBS or BDS degree with 55 per cent marks from a university recognised by the MCI or DCI. Applicants must have completed 12 months pre-registration internship from a recognised hospital on or before January 30, 2010.

•For DM, M.Ch. courses: A recognised M.D., M.S. or DNB in the respective discipline is required. Upper age limit is 35 years as on January 1, 2010.

•For MHA course: MBBS degree with 55 per cent marks and three years of experience in general practice or non-medical graduates with 60 per cent marks and seven years of experience in administrative position.

•For Ph.D. programme: Master’s degree in the relevant subject/Master’s degree in nursing with at least 60 per cent or MD, MS or equivalent degree.

Selection is based on entrance examinations to be held as per the following schedule:

•M.D., M.S., M.Ch, MDS: on November 15 to be held in Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

•D.M., M.Ch., MHA: on December 13 to be held in Delhi

•Ph.D.: January 17 in Delhi only

How to apply

Prospectus-cum-application form common for all the above courses can be obtained from the designated branches of SBI on payment of Rs.1000. The forms will be distributed up to October 10.

For getting forms by post, candidates should send a requisition letter along with a crossed bank draft for Rs.1050 drawn in favour of the ‘AIIMS PG January 2010’ to the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110608 so as to reach the addressee on or before October 10.

Admission to Satyajit Ray Film Institute courses

The Satayjit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, has invited applications for admission to three-year fulltime postgraduate diploma courses in direction and screenplay writing, cinematography, editing, audiography.

Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university. For the audiography course, applicant should have studied physics at the Plus Two level. Total seats: 40 (10 seats for each specialisation).

How to apply

Application form and other details can be downloaded from the web site www.srfti.gov.in. Duly filled in application forms along with demand draft for Rs.1500 drawn in favour of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata should sent to the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, EM By Pass Road, Panchasayar, Kolkata-700 094 so as to reach the addressee on or before November 19. PG diploma in management at XIM-B

The Xavier Institute of Management (XIM), Bhubaneswar, has invited applications for admission to the following AICTE approved academic programmes for the year 2010:

Postgraduate diploma in management: Admission to this two-year fulltime programme is on the basis of XAT Admission Test to be conducted on January 3, 2010 by the XLRI Jamshedpur. Total seats: 180.

Postgraduate diploma in rural management: Selection to this two-year fulltime programme is on the basis of IRMA or XAT admission test. Total seats: 60.

Bachelor’s degree holders in any discipline are eligible to apply for the above programmes. Fellow programme in management: This doctoral level programme has 10 seats.

How to apply

There are no paper-based application forms for seeking admission to XIM-B. Visit www.ximb.ac.in and register online for the above programmes. Application forms for each programme is Rs.1000 and it may be paid after filling online application before December 5. For more admission details visit www.ximb.ac.in.
