Stay focussed to achieve goals, students told
Veritable fare: Avanthi Degree and Post Graduate College students present a cultural programme.
The 18th Investiture ceremony – Prarambh – 2K9 of Avanthi Degree and Post Graduate College was held at White House in L.B. Nagar recently. Minister for Higher Education D. Sridhar Babu was chief guest for the programme.
Addressing on the occasion, Mr. Babu advised the students to stay focussed in achieving their goals and dream for a better career. Bar Council Chairman A. Narsimha Reddy asked the students to develop a positive attitude and keep track of the happenings in the society.
Avanthi Degree and Post Graduate College principal T. Mohan Singh gave a brief presentation about Avanthi Institutions besides making a request to the Minister about transforming the institutions into Avanthi Deemed University.
Later, students presented a colourful cultural programme.
Orientation day
The Nizam Group of Institutions organised an orientation day at Deshmukhi campus near Ramoji Film City recently.
Students of 2009-10 academic year along with their parents attended the programme.
The function was presided over by Ummul Qura Education Society founder chairman Mohd. Jafer.
He advised the students to make best use of the infrastructure, equipment to pursue their professional studies.
Hindustan Shipyard former General Manager T.R. Seshadri was chief guest for the programme.
He requested the parents and faculty to pay serious attention to the career progress of their wards besides being a guiding factor, said a press release.

Event
The Rotaract Club of J.B.Institute of Engineering & Technology organised “Global Professional Skill Development Programme” that included technical events like paper presentation, debate, group-discussions and fun events like LAN-Gaming, Treasure-hunt etc. The event was held on September 19 and 20. Over 700 people from more than 80 colleges in Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states participated in the event, a press note informed.
Krishna Sagar Rao, a well-known personality development trainers in the world and others help conducted the event.

Training at JKCs
Poor and rural students, who could not enjoy the benefits of top class English education in corporate schools, have no worries to go to far off places and work in metro cities after their receive proper support.
The training and counselling given at the Jawahar Knowledge Centres (JKCs) have instilled confidence and attitude to accept any challenge and carve out good careers.
The experience of the coordinators of the JKCs is that many students are seeing the difference that they can make by taking the training and seizing the available opportunities at the right time. When top companies come to hold interviews for even jobs in cities outside the State, these students are showing enthusiasm to lap it up and make the most of it.
The JKC at the SRR and CVR Government Degree College has been training many students coming from various colleges in different parts of the district. Whenever opportunities knock at their doors for employment in far-off cities, most students display enthusiasm to explore it.
In collaboration with the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Hyderabad, the Infosys is organising a massive recruitment drive for the finance and accounts executive posts in their Pune, Chennai, Bangalore and Jaipur centres at the JKC here. Coordinator V. Yesupadam says that it is a good opportunity that they want all students to make use of for their future careers.
Students, who have passed their B.Com or M.Com with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in 2009 and who have undergone JKC Tally (A.E) training programme, are eligible to register their names in their district nodal Jawahar Knowledge Centres (JKCs) etween October 3 and 6. According to Mr. Yesupadam, the nodal JKC Centres will offer a free intensive coaching for all the four rounds of screening tests between October 9 and 18, 2009. The first two rounds of the screening tests will be held between October 19 and 21, 2009 at the Nodal JKC Centres. The last two rounds for the qualified candidates will be held at the INFOSYS Campus, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Mr. Yesupadam has asked all the eligible candidates to utilize this opportunity.

Recruitment drive
A recruitment drive was held for the students of the V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) recently for recruiting engineering students into the Army and Navy. While 41 students were selected for the Navy, 32 students were recruited into the Army. Singh Rao, Navy commander who came from Visakhapatnam, headed the Navy recruitment team. Many girl students were also selected in this drive. Principal K. Mohana Rao appreciated the students for their enthusiasm to give their services in the Armed Forces.
Cultural club
The P.V.P. Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Kanuru, inaugurated the college cultural club with MLC Chigurupati Vara Prasad as the chief guest and college convener C. Dutt as the guest of honour recently at the inaugural function recently. Principal K. Srinivasu, who presided over the programme, stressed the need for the students to participate in the cultural programmes so that their skills would develop in multifarious areas. Administrative officer R. Madhava Rao, faculty were present.
Celebrations
The SDM Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala organised the Joy of Giving week celebrations with active participation of the department of chemistry. Principal K. Vasantha Kumari said that said that the week celebrations were aimed at inculcating the habit of serving and sharing with the less privileged sections of society. About 25 students and faculty members of the college visited the Salem orphanage in the New Postal Colony in Patamata area as part of the celebrations.
Felicitation
A. Madan Mohana Rao, associate professor of mathematics, Usha Rama College of Engineering and Technology, has been honoured with the JNTU Best Teacher award by the JNTU, Kakinada.
The honour was given on the occasion of the Sir Raghupati Venkata Ratnam Naidu birthday celebrations. The award presentation ceremony was held at the university auditorium, Kakinada. College chairman Sunkara Ramabrahmam congratulated the associate professor for his achievement.
