Eplus Club schedule

Theme: - Many of us have heard the famous quote “What's in a name?” But the significance of names cannot be overlooked. In this era of consumerism, we are often driven to look for the best names in the business and respect them. Names often create the initial impression and in some cases, it becomes impossible to recover from a first impression gone bad. This week, we talk about how important names are to us.

Note: The activity “Does Show Match Substance” scheduled for day 4 needs preparation. Get started right away!

Day 1-Spoilt for Choice: - What does your name mean? Can you think of 5 other words which have the same meaning? If you are asked to choose one of those words as your alternate name, which one will you choose?

Day 2-Inappropriate to Appropriate: - Make a list of 5-10 movies which you think have not been named appropriately and rename them. Make sure the names you choose reflect the storyline and the messages conveyed through them.

Day 3-Debate: - People choose products based on brand names and do not pay attention to quality.

Day 4-Does Show Match Substance?: - Music bands often choose striking names such as “Red Hot Chili Peppers” or “Junoon” to get the attention of people. Make a list of 2-3 famous bands with unusual names from all over the world and talk about their music. Do you think bands should choose names in keeping with their compositions and visions? Tell us how many bands in your list bear names that actually give us an idea about their music and style.

Day 5-Right Title? - Think about a book that you have read recently and tell us briefly how the story justifies or explains the title of the book. You can also choose to talk about a poem/story/article.

Day 6-Debate: - It is pointless to name a place after a celebrity or historic personality.
