FUN TIME: A face-painting session at the ICFAI BusinessSchool fest
Art Beat
ICFAI Business School, Bangalore, organised a two-day cultural fest called "Art Beat" on December 18 and 19. Students drew rangoli patterns and exhibited their dexterity and creativity with their mehendi creations, showcased their acting skills in the Drama competitions and had fun time with the Mad-Ad routines. Apart from these events, they exhibited their talents in singing, dancing, instrumental music and fashion show. There was a treasure hunt was for those who wanted to try their luck, said Juin Choudhary, faculty of IBS.
CMAT
The Calibre Management Aptitude Test for admission to 50 B-schools across India will be held on February 28, 2010. The test for 100 marks will be of two hours duration comprising four sections. The test paper and sample test is available on www.c-mat.com
Application form is available up to February 6, 2010. Last date for application is February 10, 2010. The test has been designed and developed by Calibre Mindware, an educational Enterprise Resource Planning solution provider. The test will be conducted twice a year. The test centres will be across 44 different cities in India.
Maya
Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), India's leading animation training institute, has announced its seventh annual scholarship. Students can avail up to 100 per cent scholarship on various animation courses offered by MAAC. Students can apply till December 31 for the scholarship. This opportunity is offered by MAAC at the centres across southern India. The scholarship will cover tuition fees only. MAAC, an educational division of Maya Entertainment Limited, is giving scholarships for the last six years.
Pharmacy exhibition
A one-day pharma exhibition was held at T. John College of Pharmacy, Bangalore on December 18. Over 100 students and faculty members from pharmacy colleges across the city turned up. B.R. Jagashetty, Drugs Controller, Karnataka, shared new innovations in the industry with the students. He also spoke about the scope of research and career opportunities in the pharma sector.
Vocational training
Edexcel announced a partnership with Rajitlal Institute of Technology & Health Sciences (RITHS) at an event in Bangalore. Edexcel, the U.K.'s largest awarding body for academic and vocational qualifications, will now accredit and quality-assure the indigenously-developed training programmes of RITHS. Present on the occasion were Sami Baig, Regional Director-Edexcel, Nagraj, President, Indian Medical Association, and P. L. RajitLal, Chairman, RITHS. According to a press release, the RITHS programmes will now be covered under Edexcel accreditation and students can expect high standards upon enrolling for these courses. Students can also expect an Edexcel accreditation certificate upon completion of the programme. It will also be offering a ‘Direct Final Year' admission into degree programmes at U.K. universities to students. This progression route is a unique and economical avenue for Indian students to pursue education abroad. RITHS qualifications are available in Engineering, Computing and Business Management, a press release said.
